Burst water pipe in Warren?

5/28/2020 (Permalink)

A woman is holding her head in shock at the water damage caused by a leaking pipe in her home. Broken pipes can cause water damage at any time in St. Clair Shores.

Broken Pipes Happen

My friend purchased a newer home in Warren that, unbeknownst to her, had faulty plumbing that caused severe water damage. The damage was not apparent until she saw the tell-tale signs of water leaking on the floor and dark water spots emerging on the drywall. Most of the drywall, baseboards and all of the pipes had to be replaced in her garage as the extreme cold caused the pipes to burst. Thankfully, SERVPRO® of St. Clair Shores was ready to respond to her water damage emergency and sent a team of highly trained professionals to immediately begin the cleanup and restoration process.

Advanced Water Detection Technology and Techniques

The SERVPRO technicians used state-of-the-art moisture detection and measurement equipment to determine the moisture saturation levels in the damaged wall and brought in portable water extraction equipment to remove the water quickly. Then they installed high-speed air-movers and dehumidifiers to evaporate and dry the water vapor from the air. Once everything was dry, air scrubbers and deodorization agents were used to remove the soggy water smell and then they cleaned and sanitized the area and saw the repair process through to completion.
